Food with Friends

After watching a certain movie about a certain woman’s journey into cooking, I must say I was inspired.  As I’ve mentioned before, I do love to cook, and I though I don’t often admit it, it can get lonely in this single apartment all by myself.  So when given the opportunity to host some friends over for dinner, it was a  simple choice.  They started arriving at 4:30 tonight to begin the cooking.

The Menu:

Creamy Cucumber and Dill Dip with Whole Wheat Pita

Pasta Salad with Fresh Tomatoes

Curried Carrot Bisque

Lentil Shepherd’s Pie

Green Beans with Almonds

For Dessert:

Chocolate Three-Layer Cake

Vanilla Ice Cream with Strawberry-Basil Puree

Need I say more?  Of course, it didn’t hurt that these friends especially are a balm for weary souls, and helped to make a stressful week more… easy.

Thanks.
